5 hours had passed since the taxi driver left me in the entrance of the airport. I have no documents on me so I tried to find a place where to sleep the night away or at least for a couple of hours. While I was sitting next to this place call Dunkin Donuts (reminds me so much of "The Simpsons") I tried to remember my mom's phone so I can call her and let her know my current situation. But at the same time I did not want to worry her.
After a long nap I woke up and I suddenly remembered all my moms digits. Hallelujah! I claimed!. I stood from my seat and asked a gentleman where the calling phones were?.. and he pointed me to the restrooms..I was like, "God damn it! I was wrong again." I tried to ask him where the phone was, but apparently he understood a totally different thing.
I walk and walk a long way until I found a public phone. Yes!! Thank you Jesus.
I desperately dialed all the numbers before I forget, and luckily my mom was on the other line... Mom!??! and my mother answered, "Son, Where the hell were you.!??
I told her, " Mama, I lost my passport and flight to Watertown, everything happened too fast that I don't know." Funny fact was that I could not see her, but I think my mom was having a heart attack as I was telling her the whole story about how I lost my passport.
After talking to her for a while, she told me that Maria had called her a few hours ago. She told me Maria was really worried about me, and she did not know where I was. Okay, first of all, it was glad to hear that Maria did not get deported to Peru and Secondly where was she???
Maria was on her way to JFK to pick me up and take me to Watertown, Apparently she was very upset to me because I did not wait for her at the airport...
Gracias!!!
