The Departure

Hola!, It's me again.. After that terrible episode with the flight attendant I came to the conclusion that life is even more complicated that it seems. The flight from Lima to Miami lasted 5 long hours. I was really nervous because it was my first time travelling by airplane. I was travelling with my mom's friend she was an old lady and her name is Maria. This 70 years old lady who has lived in NYC for more than 40 years does not how to speak English very well. She would always say; "My English is not very good lookin'." And one would think that after 40 years living in the United States her English would be as perfect as anybody's. Then I thought, if this lady can not speak  English in 40 years, I am lost!!!

Once we arrived Miami airport I had no problem checking out at the airport. However, one of the agents detected objects of unknown origin in Maria's luggage. Maria likes to cook Peruvian food, but in order to cook Peruvian food she needs Peruvian products. So she brought all type of food with her such as; herbs, spices, tamales, and many more products to cook. Unfortunately she was arrested because she had not declared those products before arriving at the airport.

While Maria was shouting; "Somebody who speak Spanish!!", and  "Ay!, Dios mio!"  to the agents, I was running away from her to avoid any kind of problems. I was scared man!.

I looked at my boarding pass and my final destination was La Guardia Airport in NYC, so I grabbed my bagpack and decided to wait for Maria at the gate number 9.

I said to myself; "I have never been in NY, and I don't even know where is it but I really needed to get away from there."

The time of getting into the plane came and there was no trace of Maria. I was desperate looking everywhere, but she never came.

Then I thought; "Nothing bad could really happen!!?" It will be better to wait for her in NY.

And so I boarded the plane by myself and the rest ... is to be continued.

See you Next Time!

Gracias.
